How Virtual Cooking Classes Works?

Bring your team or friends together for an interactive culinary experience — no matter where you are in the world! CHEFIN’s Virtual Cooking Classes are a fun, hands-on way to cook alongside a professional chef from the comfort of your own kitchen.

Here’s how it works:
👩‍🍳 Live Online Class – The session is hosted via Google Meet (or Zoom if preferred) and is also recorded so you can rewatch later or share with anyone who missed it.
📩 Before the Class – Each guest receives a welcome email introducing the chef and dishes, along with a detailed shopping list, recipe booklet, and simple preparation guide.
🧄 Prepare Your Ingredients – Before the class, everyone shops for their ingredients and completes the basic prep (washing, chopping, and measuring), so you’re ready to cook along live.
🎥 Interactive Experience – On the day, join the live link, follow the chef step-by-step, ask questions, and enjoy expert tips, plating advice, and stories from the kitchen.
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Group Options – Ideal for teams or private groups of 6–12 participants. For larger groups, we recommend creating sub-groups with additional chefs or facilitators to keep the session interactive and personal.

Whether it’s for team building, client entertainment, or a social get-together, our Virtual Cooking Classes are designed to be engaging, educational, and deliciously fun.

Your menu will be fully customised based on your requirements by a Private Chef.

Frequently Asked questions

What menu will I cook during the class?

Once your booking is confirmed, we’ll share the class menu so everyone knows what they’ll be making. The chef will teach two canapes, one entrée and one main, with clear steps that are designed to be achievable at home. Dietary needs can be accommodated where possible — just let us know in advance.

Can I choose a specific chef for our class?

Yes, where availability allows. After your booking is confirmed, we’ll match you with the most suitable chef based on your preferred cuisine, group type (team or private), and schedule. If you have a chef in mind, tell us and we’ll do our best to arrange it.

How does booking a Virtual Cooking Class work?

Book online and you’ll receive a confirmation email with next steps. Each participant will receive a welcome email introducing the chef and class menu, plus a shopping list, recipe booklet, and prep guide. On the day, you’ll join via Google Meet (or Zoom if preferred) and cook along live.

Do you run classes for my group size?

Yes. Virtual Cooking Classes are ideal for less than 12 participants. For larger groups, we can run multiple sub-groups with additional chefs or facilitators to keep the experience interactive and personal.

What do I need to prepare before the class?

Each participant will need their own ingredients, plus basic kitchen equipment and a stable internet connection. We recommend completing light prep beforehand — washing, chopping, and measuring — so everyone can cook smoothly during the live session.

What time should we join, and how long does it run?

We recommend joining 5–10 minutes early to test audio and video. Most classes run for 60–90 minutes, depending on the menu and group size. The session can also be recorded so you can rewatch or share with anyone who missed it.

How does CHEFIN Online Cooking Class flows?

When you book your class, our team will be in touch with some questions about the food you’d like to cook and the type of experience you’re after. You’ll be matched with a private chef who will then create a menu for your cooking class based on your tastes, preferences, and dietary requirements. We’ll send the menu to you for approval before the event, as well as a link to join the virtual meeting.

Before the virtual cooking class event, you and your guests will receive a welcome email introducing the chef and dishes, along with a detailed shopping list, recipe booklet, and simple preparation guide.

When it’s time for your class, hop online to join the virtual meeting, meet your chef, and get cooking! Your class will include detailed instruction on cooking techniques, ingredients, and the history of the dishes you’re cooking. You can ask questions at any time throughout the class and get feedback on your progress. Make sure your cameras are working!

After the virtual cooking class, you and your friends can enjoy your meals and have a shared lunch or dinner online. Your chef can also stay on to answer any questions, share stories, and offer more tips and tricks in the kitchen. At the end of the day, you’ll be glowing with a tummy full of great food and memories of a unique bonding experience with your loved ones!

Can I have a virtual cook-off instead of a cooking class?

Definitely! A cook-off is a more competitive experience and the chef will be kindly judging your meals and providing feedback. You will still be guided through a set of recipes, only this time your chef will set a time for you to go off and prepare the meals yourselves. They will still be there to answer questions and provide guidance as you cook. While the chef won’t be able to taste your meals, they will judge them based on appearance, plating up, etc.

A virtual cook-off is a fun, fast-paced activity. Don’t take yourself too seriously and just enjoy the ride! This is a great virtual activity for birthdays in quarantine, team-building exercises, or just general fun with friends and family who are far away.

Why should I book a virtual cooking class?

A virtual cooking class is just as hands-on and informative as an in-person class. You have the opportunity to be directly guided by a private chef while participating in a fun bonding exercise with friends and family. Here are some benefits to taking an online cooking class:

  1. Learn menu planning. Your chef won’t just teach you recipes, but guide you through the entire menu creation process. You’ll then be able to design your own menus that are perfectly balanced with harmony from entree to dessert.
  2. Learn cooking techniques. Cook and prep faster, better, and more efficiently with all the best kitchen secrets from your chef. This will include knife techniques, meal prepping, plating up, and more.
  3. Learn ingredient combinations. The secret sauce to many outstanding meals is unique and intriguing ingredient combinations. Your chef will teach you how to turn an ordinary dish into a stand-out creation through the art of ingredient combination.
  4. Personal guidance. In a virtual cooking class, the chef is dedicating all their attention towards helping you and your guests develop your kitchen skills. Ask any questions you have, voice concerns, and feel free to guide the cooking class as you wish. Everything will be paced per your skill level and customised to you and your tastes.
