Bio

Chef Alan Dawes began his culinary journey at just 16, training in Michelin-starred restaurants in France. This early exposure to French cuisine shaped his passion for refined flavors and technique.

In the UK, he honed his skills in several award-winning restaurants, working under legendary chefs like Marco Pierre White. This experience gave him a deep respect for classical methods and a flair for high-level dining.

Since moving to Australia in 2013, Chef Alan has embraced the country’s rich produce, focusing on farm-to-fork cooking at Homage in Grandchester, where he helped the restaurant achieve its first Chef Hat. His career highlights include roles at 2-Hat NuNu’s in Palm Cove, 1-Hat Tarrawarra in the Yarra Valley, and two years leading The Stables at Stones, crafting seasonal degustation menus from the best local ingredients.

As Sous Chef at The Long Apron on the Sunshine Coast, he perfected his signature style—melding traditional French cuisine with bold Australian flavors. His creativity and dedication were recognized with three consecutive Sunshine Coast Readers’ Choice Awards (2021–2023) from the Australian Good Food Guide.

Over the years, Chef Alan has earned eight awards, cooked in over 700 homes, and been voted one of the top four wedding caterers on the Sunshine Coast. His reputation as a Personal Chef in Brisbane has grown through his ability to deliver restaurant-quality experiences at home.

Today, Chef Alan focuses on creating unforgettable dining experiences as a Personal Chef in Queensland. He combines experimental flavor profiles with a commitment to elegance and simplicity, always celebrating the joy of bringing people together through food.
